WhatsApp Adds Picture in Picture (PiP) Support for Video Calls

WhatsApp -one of the best and most used Instant messaging app- has been adding lots of interesting features and now, the company has added a new feature called PiP.

You must be wondering what is PiP, right? According to the company, PiP is the acronym for Picture-in-Picture. This feature has been added to the latest version of WhatsApp and available for the public.

What Does Whatsapp's Picture in Picture feature do?

This feature is enabled whenever you are making a video call. Just like you see on other video chatting apps, Whatsapp picture in picture mode displays a small screen that shows the person you are video chatting with, instead of displaying it in full screen.

Another wonderful feature recently released is called text-only status alongside with picture-in-picture video calls. All are now added to the latest version of Whatsapp.

Text-only status feature allow users to just post text-based updates for their friends to see. Instead of having a photo or video as your status, you can now just type text or insert a URL. Users will be able to customize the color of the font and the background too.

In addition, picture-in-picture mode lets a video element continue to run in a small window even if the main app is minimized. Interesting right?

However, the feature is available to all Android users running Android 8 Oreo.

What's your say on this latest updates from Whatsapp?
